A Persian inscription of Emperor Shah Jahan is fixed on the outer wall of newly rebuilt mosque. The inscription narrates about Lutful’ah Shirazi, the builder of the ancient mosque who spread the message of Islam in the region. The inscription is dated to 1067 A.H, corresponding to 1657 CE.
